Just 45 minutes away in McKinney, the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary is the perfect place for curious kids to explore. The Heard consists of 289 acres of naturally preserved trails and habitats for the birds, reptiles, and prairie mammals of North Texas. The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza

Only an hour’s drive from Greenville, the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza in downtown Dallas is a must-see for any history buff or native Texan. Located in the former Texas School Book depository from which Lee Harvey Oswald fired his historic shots, this intimate exploration of the JFK assassination literally places visitors in the shoes of an assassin, allowing guests to sit and peer through the same window at which Oswald perched.
